This message means we read the post and found no video inside it. The post exists, it is public, nothing is blocked — there is simply nothing to save at that address.
The usual cause: the link points somewhere else
In the X app, Share copies the link of the post you are looking at. When a video is quoted or replied to, the post on your screen is the reply, and the video belongs to the one underneath. The link you copied is correct — it just names a post without a video.
The fix takes two seconds: tap the video itself so the post that owns it opens on its own, then Share, then Copy link. The address ends with /status/ followed by a long number, and that number belongs to the post with the video.
A profile link is not a post
An address like x.com/someone names a person, not a post. It holds hundreds of videos and none in particular, so there is nothing to hand you. The same goes for a search, a list, or the home timeline.
Images, GIFs and videos are not the same thing
- A photo is not a video, and there is nothing for us to convert.
- A GIF on X is really a video without sound, and it saves like any other.
- A video inside a quoted post belongs to the quoted post, as above.
What this message is not
It is not a private account, and it is not a deleted post — those two say so in their own words. If you are certain the post you copied holds a video and you still get this, the link very likely lost a piece on the way: copy it again rather than typing it by hand.
